The first thing to realize is that the question, "Tell me about yourself," provides you with a great chance to promote your strong points. This is particularly important when applying for a job that is different from what you have done in the past. You need to show the interviewer that your previous jobs provide you with skills that can be used in the new job.

This doesn't mean that you just say, "I'm a great problem solver." Instead, explain how you used your problem-solving skills at your previous job. 事例比自我夸耀更能说明问题。

WHAT TO SAY 应说什么?
What you actually say, in terms of the words you use, is something that you have to decide. When you do this, you'll probably spot things that you have to change.

Sam Palmisano is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of the IBM Corporation. Mr. Palmisano was appointed to this position on January 6, 2003. Previously, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer.
He began his career in 1973 in Baltimore, Maryland. Since then, Mr. Palmisano has held a series of leadership positions during his IBM career, including senior vice president for the Enterprise Systems and Personal Systems groups. Mr. Palmisano also played a key role in creating and leading IBM’s Global Services, rising to senior vice president, and building the largest and most diversified IT services organization in the industry. He also served as senior managing director of operations for IBM Japan.
Mr. Palmisano is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University. In recognition of his leadership role as co-chair of the Council of Competitiveness’ National Innovation Initiative, as well as his many business accomplishments, Mr. Palmisano was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in September 2005. In July 2006, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the London Business School.
Rod Adkins leads all of IBM’s global server and storage systems hardware and software development as well as semiconductor manufacturing operations. William J. AMELIO

William J. Amelio is president and CEO of Lenovo Group Limited. Mr. Amelio joined Lenovo from Dell Inc. where since 2001 he served as senior vice president, Asia-Pacific and Japan, with responsibility for strategy and operations across the region. During his tenure, sales more than doubled in the region and service levels improved significantly, as measured by third-party customer satisfaction metrics. Kenneth DiPietro is senior vice president, Human Resources. Mr. DiPietro brings more than 25 years of experience to Lenovo in both human resources and organizational development. Prior to joining Lenovo, he served as a full-time HR consultant to the Lenovo executive staff. Most recently, he served as the corporate vice president, Human Resources, at Microsoft Corporation. In that role, he was responsible for developing strategies and programs to enhance staffing, compensation, benefits, executive development, diversity, and workplace culture for Microsoft worldwide.
Before joining Microsoft in 2003, Mr. DiPietro was vice president of human resources for the Americas at Dell Inc., where he was responsible for all people planning, compensation, staffing, training and executive development. 以上只是一些最基本的面试问答。对于英语非母语的人来说,最重要和最难的是用英语讲述大量细节,尤其是复杂的细节。然而,雇主是很有必要知道你能否把 工作范畴内的细节表达清楚,这对你是否胜任至关重要。不要太过担心语法问题。只要用词够多,内容够细,只要不影响理解,语法往往不是那么重要。

先说我去被面试的经验吧。
回答清楚了2个问题,就能顺利过关了。
1。为什么要离开上一家公司。
2。公司为什么要雇佣你。
问第一个问题的是hr(或老板),呵呵 ,即使你技术过关,hr那里没有好的影响,结果是一个字,难!
如何回答呢? hr想推论出你在他的公司能呆多久。这个时候,你甚至可以明确告诉他,我在贵公司至少能呆n(n>=1)年----当然,你没有把握的话,绝对不能乱说,社会上混,要讲信用的。
有一次,我就在这个问题上吃了大亏,我看公司环境还不错,就我自做主张回答1年,结果,hr心目中是m(m>=2)年,呵呵,结果可想而知了。要知道,技术面试都过关了,Hr面试是2选1,在回家的路上,我只能祈祷对手自动放弃或找到了其他更好的工作。:)
问第二个问题的是技术官。你要让他知道你已经做过哪些商业作品。一定要是商业作品。 在里面负责哪方面具体工作,对于你熟悉的地方要多说。最好就是能争取笔试或上机,因为用用口说的话,大家理解都不一样,误差可能很大,结果对你相当不利。 在这个问题上我也吃过亏的,曾有一个我很看好的职位,认为把握很大,业务理解上也很有优势,和技术官一谈,结果是game over。要知道,在其他公司的上机和笔试中,我都能在应聘者中取得高分。
再说我去面试别人的经验吧。
当时,我的任务是出题,给分。若你觉得题很难,那么,请千万不要放弃,显然,你的对手也觉得难。只要坚持,我会认为这人有耐心很毅力,在以后的工作 中也是好的合作者。题一定要做完,表现出认真的态度,若有疑问或卡壳,还可以寻求面试官的帮助,这些不会减分,相反,会增加你和他们的接触机会,面试官会 评估你的沟通能力。
有一次,有1个人来面试,题没有完全ok,但很规范,态度很认真,他把他知道的都做上去了,我给了他技术类的高分。后来,顺利进入公司,再后来进步很快,成了重要角色。

今天下午我参与了公司招聘项目经理的面试工作,这也是我第一次参加这样的工作!公司的所有项目经理级以上的人都参加了这次面试工作(当然我不是,我 参与是因为招聘到是我们部门当项目经理)!可见公司对这个职位的重视程度,当然我们公司在软件行业应该不算小吧,大概有200号人。
应聘者是一个30多岁的人,穿着比较干净整洁也比较正式,在这点上也看出了他对这次面试的重视程度。和很多公司一样,穿着也是考核应聘者的一方面好 象有10分吧(共100分)。从他的介绍我了解到他90年从某名牌大学毕业,十来年的it经验已经是相当的丰富了。他的工作经历也非常的丰富,从 coding,design,pm都干过。来这里之前在一家全国知名的IT企业任职做CRM。面试首先由他通过ppt谈谈就对自己CRM的认识和前景,其 实这里是考他的文档编写能力,在面试评价表中这项占了20%的比重。从这里我们可以看出作为一个项目经理级的职位写的能力是多么的重要!接下来有参与这次面试的人随意的问他一些技术和管理上的一些问题,从问的问题可以看出管理人员关心的是他的应变能力和协调能力,而技术人员问的也无非是一些技术上的问题,还有就是一些老生长谈的问题,比如为什么离开先前的公司啊之类的问题。 在回答一些管理方法的问题上他现的还是比较的老道,有些很尖锐的问题他也能很巧妙地绕过去,毕竟也有3X的岁数了嘛!在一些技术的问题上他已经明显的有点 跟不上最新的技术了。毕竟也有3X的岁数了嘛!大家都问完了问题之后,HR的人就叫他回去了!他回去以后我们就讨论对他的印象,发言的次序从职位的从低到 高来决定(这是比较好的方言方法)。有人说他为人有点孤傲,因为他在回答一些问题的时候经常用“我认为“之类的,带有排他性的词语。这是很多人不喜欢的。 他还说他原来是去华为公司的,由于某些原因没有去所以就来这里了。这给别人的印象非常的不好,别人会很自然的认为你是“退以求其次”的态度。从讨论的结果 来看,项目经理的职位不会在新技术上有非常高的要求,重要的是协调能力和沟通能力。大家对他的评价都还不错,除了某些技术上的问题之外!其实上层领导根本就不会太注重技术上的问题,技术的问题是给软件工程师的!当然招聘软件工程师部门就可以搞定了也没有这样的”面试军团”!
从这次参加面试来看,在面试中要注意如下几点:
1、穿着要整洁干净。
2、谈吐要清晰,声音要洪亮,不能细声细语。
3、回答问题要积极,千万不能以带有否定的词语如:我不知道,我不会等。也不要带有回避的性质去回答问题。
4、应聘之前一定要准备你要应聘的职位以及工作内容的资料,这里必问的。
5、注意说话的语气,尽量少说抬高自己的话语。
